THE ICE FJORD Paddleboarding among the icebergs of East Greenland • It’s impossible not to be intrigued by life in the Arctic. Even more so when you explore it from the water. The excitement of paddling through ice, surrounded by icebergs and wild landscapes. The fulfillment of learning to move safely through cold, remote waters, bracing against katabatic winds, hoping not to cross paths with a polar bear. Follow Chris and Julie as they explore East Greenland by paddleboard, navigating fjords and floating ice in one of the most untouched corners of the world.

THE VJOSA RIVER Supping down Europe’s Blue Heart • In 2024, Ryan Salm, Jay Sanavage, Martin Cavada, and Claire Holman gave themselves three weeks to journey the Vjosa River on foot and paddleboard from source to sea—roughly 250 kilometers down one of Europe’s last free-flowing rivers. From the pristine waters of the Pindus Mountains to the littered floodplains of Albania, their route took them through towering gorges, remote villages, and tangled wilderness, including a sketchy border crossing under the blazing sun.

Nicolas Fayol and Clarisse Labussiere had been there before, but this time was different. They packed their boards and set off to paddle it, turning a familiar place into a slower, more intimate way to experience the mountains.
